CATS is the only organization of it’s kind committed to:

• Creating a more inclusive community through shared cultural experiences

• Reducing the rate of recidivism with those clients currently involved with CATS partner agencies

• Creating a fan base and future patrons for cultural events throughout the Bay Area

CATS was established in September 2004. Based on the very successful Bass Tickets Foundation, CATS is committed to providing positive socialization opportunities to disadvantaged individuals through participation in local cultural events.

To accomplish this, CATS partners with local social service agencies serving socioeconomically disadvantaged and the many cultural/ recreational entities in the Bay Area.

CATS represents a unique niche in the non-profit world: not considered a “direct-service” agency (an agency that works directly with clients), CATS is the only entity working the diversity of populations serving disadvantaged – daily. CATS works with program staff of these agencies often times creating or assisting in implementing recreational programming often not existing prior to the agency’s partnership with CATS. CATS represents between 10% and 100% of partnering agencies recreational programming.

CATS’s partnership with venues is equally as unique. CATS provides much needed audience support to large and small venues alike (from 60-45,000 seat venues). These are venues committed to a diversified audience and see CATS as the best way to ensure their audience is representative of the entire Bay Area community.
